Part of the tract was once owned by a local poet, Mary. B Wall, whose poems were published in a book called OF ONE EARTH, or “D’une Terre” in French. Many of the poems within are about the beauties of nature. The name “D’une Terre” is not only symbolic of this past owner. It also has a deeper meaning within the simplicity of the phrase itself, which connects nature to self, and self to community.
